Your Internet Address
To get your website up and running on the internet,
you need an "address". This is known as a "domain
name", and allows internet users to find your website.
Domain Names
Domain names are controlled world wide by registrars
responsible for the different domains. There are now numerous "top-level"
domains from which you can choose.
Businesses in Australia will typically use ".com.au"
domains, but others such as ".com" are also commonly used.
Organisations often use ".org" or ".com", and
".com" is most commonly used for personal or family websites.
Once you have registered a domain name, it remains
your property so long as you maintain the annual registration. It
cannot be used by others during this time.
Bushtrack will manage all aspects of your
domain name registration on your behalf, however the domain name
will be registered to you or your business, so you have ownership
of the name.
If you already have a registered domain name, Bushtrack
can arrange for this to "point" to your new website.
